Wpływ roślinnych składników diety na zdrowie

Chciałabym tu gromadzić informacje dotyczące dużych badań o wpływie roślinnych składników diety na zdrowie. Nie należy ich oczywiście przekładać wyłącznie na weganizm, bo przecież osoby wszystkożerne też jedzą rośliny. Bardziej, jak sądzę, może to służyć jako wskazówki dla wegan, na które produkty roślinne warto zwracać uwagę.

Soy Protects Against Lung Cancer

Soy consumption may help fight lung cancer, according to a new study. Researchers in the Japan Public Health Center-based Prospective Study looked at 76,661 participants’ lifestyle factors and lung cancer risk and found that those who consumed the most soy had the lowest risk of lung cancer. Among men who never smoked, researchers saw a significantly lower risk of lung cancer in those who consumed the most soy, compared with those who consumed the least. Researchers saw similar results in nonsmoking women, but they could not rule out statistical chance as the reason for these results. People who consumed the most soy may have also participated in other activities that could lower risk such as eating more fruits and vegetables. Soy foods in this study included miso soup, soymilk, a variety of tofu dishes, and fermented soybeans.

Vegetables Reduce Breast Cancer Risk

Women consuming more vegetables have a decreased risk of breast cancer, according to a new study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology. Researchers followed the diets of 51,928 participants in the Black Women’s Health Study. Participants who ate two or more servings of vegetables per day had a 43 percent decreased breast cancer risk, compared with those who ate less than four servings per week. Cruciferous vegetables (e.g., broccoli, cauliflower, and kale) and carrots had the largest impact on breast cancer risk.

Vegetables, Fruits, Soy Help Prevent Breast Cancer

Consumption of soy, fruits, and vegetables helps reduce the risk of developing breast cancer, according to a new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.Postmenopausal women who consumed plenty of soy, fruits, and vegetables had a 30 percent lower risk of developing breast cancer, compared with those who consumed relatively little of these foods. The research was based on 34,028 women in the Singapore Chinese Health Study. The longer the women had consumed these healthful foods, the less chance they had of developing breast cancer.
